Connect... with guest speakers and other family and professional caregivers.

Care Connection is a free, teleconference designed for both family caregivers and professional caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses. These teleconferences are a valuable mix of coaching, guest speakers, questions and answers--and sharing.

The sessions are held the second Thursday of each month at 1 pm Eastern Time.

During each monthly telephone session, experts provide presentations about dementia that are geared to both family caregivers and healthcare professionals, including medical, behavioral, practical, social and spiritual issues. Up to 150 family and professional caregivers from anywhere in the nation can call in to the live one-hour phone sessions. A member of AFA’s social work team will facilitate each session and encourage call-in participants to pose questions to the experts as well as share their own experiences in a supportive environment. Participants can simply listen or contribute to the conversation during the interactive sessions. For information about specific speakers and topics, see below.

Attention professional caregivers: for those professionals qualified by AFA’s membership and training division, Dementia Care Professionals of America (DCPA), each session will count as one hour of training toward credits required to renew  your DCPA status.
